A star studded cast of the world's top beach volleyballers will be in action on Manly Beach next year with Volleyfest returning following support from the NSW State Government and the Northern Beaches Council.
Volleyfest will be run over 9 days from the 22nd of February to the 1st of March 2020, and showcase a number of Beach Volleyball events.
The 9 day volleyball festival will feature the second round of the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour (ABVT), the Australian Beach Volleyball Championships which will include top international teams, the NSW State Open and the NSW Beach Volleyball Schools Cup as well as an International training camp.
Plenty of work has taken place behind the scenes to ensure Volleyfest remained at Manly Beach.
Volleyball Australia CEO Andrew Dee says “ It’s a great result for Australian Volleyball, the athletes and for the business community on the Northern Beaches and I would like to thank the NSW Government, local member James Griffin and the Northern Beaches Council for their support, ensuring the event stays at the iconic Manly Beach”.
Member for Manly James Griffin says “Volleyball Australia President Craig Carracher has worked extremely hard with the NSW Government and the Northern Beaches Council to deliver this unique sporting event”.
Volleyfest which was judged to be one of the top sporting events in NSW in 2019, is seen as vital in the preparation of Australia’s beach volleyballers in the lead up to the Tokyo Olympics.
