Volleyball comes alive in Canberra

Volleyball comes alive in Canberra from 29 September with the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships, a Junior development camp, a coaching conference and a referees workshop

With 75 teams playing in the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships at the AIS as the centrepiece, it is the perfect environment for a range of volleyball related activities.

The two-day ‘We Are One’ coaching conference from 27 to 29 September brings together Volleyball Australia’s performance coaching staff, sharing what they do through interactive training sessions, workshops and seminars.

The conference is open to anybody interested in developing further their skills as a coach. The conference fee is $200. For further details contact National Education Manger, Nam Pham, via email: Nam.pham@volleyball.org.au.

The Referees Committee will also be holding a two-day workshop from 5 October.

Another highlight from 5 October, the same day as the finals of the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships, will be a development camp involving the Australian and New Zealand Youth teams.

The six-day camp will feature 100 athletes in a combined training environment with training each morning followed by friendly matches at night at the AIS.

Opportunities for coaches from the Australian and New Zealand teams to collaborate during the Junior Volleyball Championships are also planned
