The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS), Volleyball Australia (VA) and Volleyball Queensland (VQ) are partners in the well-respected Volleyball Development Program based at the QAS in Brisbane. The program was formerly known as the Queensland Elite Development Program (QEDP).


In 2017, the program will undergo some changes, essentially involving a closer connection between the VA program at the QAS and the VQ State High Performance programs.


We are seeking an Assistant Coach to support the new appointed head coach Craig Marshall lead this program. This we be a full time role that will require the successful applicant to be flexible with after hours and weekend work.


Employed by Volleyball Australia, the duties of the role include but not limited to:

  1. Assisting the Head Coach in Identifying and recruiting Queensland’s most talented junior volleyball athletes (male and female) and leading their physical and technical development in both beach and indoor volleyball in the program at the QAS.
  2. Assisting the Head Coach in designing and implementing a high performance volleyball training program at the QAS which includes group and individual sessions, including technical, tactical, physiological, psychological and social sessions in indoor and beach volleyball.
  3. Assisting the Head Coach in planning and coordinating designated support services to the program at the QAS including sports science, medicine, strength and conditioning, and athlete personal excellence.

Qualifications and Experience expected:


  • Level 2 National Coaching Accreditation or overseas equivalent
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Relevant coaching experience at a national or international level
