Volleyball Australia are very excited to announce that George Chalhoub from NSW will accept the leadership role of VARC in the chair position. VA also
welcomes back Dean Turner from ACT who will take on the Technical Member role.
George started refereeing in 2007 and has managed many fantastic achievements and experiences including being the recipient of the Jeff Kosta Awards at AJVC 2010 in WA, elected chair for NSW Volleyball Referee Association and is the current-outgoing VARC Pathway Member.
George expressed his excitement, "I feel very humbled and grateful for the trust that Volleyball Australia has put in me with this appointment. It is a big responsibility that I am willing to take. I will try to the best of my ability and with the great team I will be working with, to build on the solid work that my predecessors have achieved… We will endeavour to establish a culture of teamwork on and off the courts"
Dean has over 40 years experience with officiating in Australia and overseas. Currently a member of the Asian Referee Committee and a FIVB referee instructor he brings a wealth of knowledge to the technical role.
Dean commented "I'm excited to be back in a new role with the VARC, where I can apply a great deal of my current work from FIVB and AVC to expanding the
technical understanding of the game to our volleyball community"
