THE AVL FIRES UP FOR ROUND 7

CANBERRA KEEPING THE HEAT ON THE REST

The Canberra HEAT remain undefeated at the top of Men’s Eastern Conference of the AVL after 7 straight wins to start the season.

The boys from the nation’s capital seem unstoppable refusing to drop a set in the 21 they’ve contested so far.

Having played one less match than the HEAT the Queensland PIRATES are on 16 points just 5 behind the HEAT in second place on the ladder.

The PIRATES will be hoping to bridge that gap when they kick off Round 6 tonight (Friday) hosting Centre Of Excellence.

Queensland will go in full of confidence knowing the Centre Of Excellence are yet to register a win this season after 5 matches. Two of those losses were at the hands of the PIRATES just last month.

In other games on Friday night the Sydney WARRIORS will be looking for their first win of the season when they host UTSSU at Netball Central at Sydney Olympic Park.

In the Southern Conference Adelaide STORM will also be looking to rack up their first win of the season when they host two matches against the VVA VULTURES.

Meanwhile only 3 points separates the top 3 Women’s teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Sydney AMAZONS lead the way but not by much and are looking to bounce back from their last start straight sets loss to bottom of the table Canberra HEAT.

The AMAZONS face third placed UTSSU this weekend in what is sure to be a battle for top spot.

The 2nd placed Qld Pirates will hope to knock both off top spot when they host 4th placed Centre of Excellence tonight in the first of four big clashes this weekend.

In the Southern Conference the Adelaide STORM are at home to the VULTURES both sides will be desperate to get a first win for the season after two matches each.
