​Queensland Pirates win the minor premiership in both the men’s and women’s Australian Volleyball Super League


 

The Queensland Pirates men’s team has gone through the pool matches undefeated in the Australian Volleyball Super League.

The Pirates won all ten matches through the pool section, losing only three sets.

Queensland won both matches against Canberra Heat in the final round 3-0, 3-2.

Canberra finished the regular season in second place ahead of the Melbourne Vipers with the UTSSU Shield making up the top four and securing a place in the finals in the men’s competition.

In the women’s, the Queensland Pirates defeated Canberra Heat 3-1, 3-2 in the final round.

Queensland finished the regular season with just two losses ahead of the Melbourne Vipers with three defeats through the ten matches.

Canberra dropped to fourth but held on to secure a place in the finals.

Melbourne finished second, with Adelaide third.

The finals will take place on the Gold Coast on 7 and 8 December. The schedule will see first playing fourth, while second place meets third on Saturday 7 December, with the bronze and gold medal games on Sunday 8 December.
