​Position Vacant - Assistant Coach, Australian Volleyball Academy


A prime opportunity exists for a Volleyball Coach with professional coaching aspirations to be immersed in a full time training environment at the Australian Volleyball Academy (AVA) at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

The successful applicant will work as part of a coaching team charged with the identification and development of Australia’s future international Beach Volleyball and Volleyball athletes. The opportunity will come with appropriate development opportunities to supplement the experience gained in day to day hands on coaching of developing elite athletes.
The Assistant Coach will assist the AVA Head Coaches to plan and deliver a training program focused on the development of AVA athletes towards graduation to Senior National Teams in both beach and indoor volleyball disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver day-to-day coaching of athletes as part of a coaching team under the direction of the Head Coaches and in collaboration with National Team Coaches, National Technical Director, Sports Science and Medicine staff and other relevant providers
  2. Support the AVA Head Coaches to plan and implement a program to identify athletes with the potential to compete at the elite international level in Beach and Indoor Volleyball.
 
 
Salary package: To be negotiated commensurate with experience.
