The Australian Women’s Indoor Volleyball team are in great form with two wins in a row on their European tour.
The Helloworld Travel Volleyroos defeated the top Slovenian club side OK Nova Bank Maribor overnight, in straight sets in Maribor, Slovenia. The womens side won 5-0 with the match extended by another 2 sets after Australia reached 3-0.
Coach Marty Collins used the match to experiment with different lineups. It was the Volleyroos second win in a row after defeating Austria the day before
3-2 . This followed a 1-3 loss to Austria in their opening game.
Captain Kell Lean says her side is improving with every game. “It has been an exciting start to the season, with every player contributing across the last 2 wins showing depth within the team. We have really tried to focus on consistent aggressive actions/efforts along with concise decision making which has been awesome to see improve over the last 2 weeks of training then into actual games”.
The Volleyroos have one more match in Maribor, Slovenia against Peru before heading back to Poland to compete in a tournament against Sweden, Cameroon and a Polish Plus Liga select team.
