Five things to know about the 2021 Australian National Championships


The Australian Beach Volleyball National Championships return to Sydney from 19-21 February, in the beautiful setting of Manly Beach. The event doubles up as the third leg of the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour (ABVT)

Here are the top five things you need to know ahead of all the action kicking off.

1. When are the Australian National Championships being held?

Friday 19 February – Qualification Rounds. From 12pm-4pm

Saturday 20 February – Full competition. From 8am – 6pm

Sunday 21 February

  • Competition commences 8am
  • Semi Finals: from 8am
  • Bronze Medal Games: from 11.30am
  • Gold Medal Games: from 2pm
  • Medal Presentations: from 4pm

All times AEDT.

2. Who is playing and how do I follow the results?

For all the seedings, draws and results, check out the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour website – https://abvt.volleyball.org.au/events/manly/

3. How can I watch?

All the action on centre court, except for finals, will be live streamed via the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/AusBeachVolleyTour

On Sunday, fans will be able to watch the Australian National Championships final matches on SBS, with the following program:

  • On SBS HD 1 LIVE:
    • Gold medal matches (2:00pm AEDT)
  • Bronze medal and Gold medal matches on SBS On Demand from 11.30am
  • Gold medal matches on SBS One from 2pm

4. Where is the event being held and can I attend?

The event is being held at Manly Beach, with spectators welcome to come along. This is a FREE event and suitable for the whole family.

The Australian Beach Volleyball Tour has COVID safe plans in place and reminds all spectators to adhere to social distancing and additional at venue advice.
