12:42pm: Consecutive sneaky drop shots from Germany's Sandra Seyfferth gives her team a 21-19 first set win over japan's Suzuki/Ishii. A very entertaining opening set

10:51am: Japan take the first set 21-12, but it was harder than it sounds! They did lead 20-5, so the Australians fought back well.

10:23am: That was impressive! New Zealand's Tilley and Bain with a 21-12, 21-13 win over Australia's Ingram and Link.
10:05am: Wow New Zealand very impressive in the opening set, take the points 21-12 over Australia as the wind picks up a little but the rain stays away..

9:38am: Scotland take the match 2-1! After a nervous first set, Beattie/Coutts got their game together to take the second 21-16, and then the third 15-9! Impressive performance from the Scots!
9:26am: Scotland level the match at 1-all!! They take the second 21-16 and are looking great! Interesting fun fact - Lynne Beattie was captain of the GB Indoor team at the London Olympics!
908am: Heartbreak for Scotland! They led the opening set 20-18, but Weiler served Australia to the next four points to take the opener 22-20. And the rain is starting to fall..
The next game on centre court will see Scotland's Beattie/Coutts take on Australia's Battaglene/Weiler. How fantastic to have Scotland down in Manly at a World Tour event! Could this team be back in Australia on the Gold Coast at next year's Commonwealth Games?
845am: The good news is the forecast terrible weather is holding off! It's overcast, but no wind and no rain - yet!
840am: Game one is over, with a 2-0 win for Australia's del Solar/Ngauamo over New Zealand's Quigley/Lindsay Brown. The New Zealanders held set point 20-19 in the second, but made a setting error, allowing Australia to take advantage.
