The Board of VA and the Australian Olympic Committee have approved some important changes to the Nomination Criteria (Selection Policy) for the Beach Volleyball Teams for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
The major changes relate to the criteria to be taken into account by the Selection Committee in relation to selecting teams to represent Australia in Tokyo, utilising qualification places gained through the Continental Cup. Those changes, which are outlined in clauses 6.5 (b) and (c), are designed to make it clearer and more transparent in relation to those selections, giving particular weight to the most recent results and form of the players seeking selection. They also allow ultimately for a play-off to determine selection if that is thought to be necessary and appropriate.
All candidates for Olympic Beach Volleyball Selection should take careful note of these changes.
